They say a way to a mans heart is through his stomach. Well, this delicious creamy mango cake parfait is enough to make a “mango” crazy! Ha!
Just ask my husband. I could barely finish making this before he was sticking his spoon in it. Not to mention my daughter…she devoured one too. I was licking the preparation spoon and eating pieces of mango all while dipping teaspoons of mango sauce and whipped cream. I got my fill! They are sooo good! The mango sauce really makes this parfait, but we’ll get to that in a minute.
I had such a blast making these delicious parfaits. Layers of fresh cream, mango sauce, juicy mango, pound cake,….I’m drooling again just thinking about them. Need.to.make.again.soon. No joke.
This insanely delicious dessert or treat can be whipped up in no time. It’s also wonderful for a summertime snack. It’s not a heavy dessert, it’s super light and refreshing!
Okay, let’s get to the good stuff! THE RECIPE y’all! Mmm yum yum yum gimme sum.
1/2 cup heavy cream
1 tbls confectionery sugar
1/4 tsp vanilla
1/2 cup “Leahs Mango Gourmet Sauce”
1 cup Sara Lee pound cake cut into small squares
1 cup fresh cut mango chunks
1 tsp Natures Valley vanilla honey granola
In a medium sized mixing bowl, combine whipping cream, confectionery sugar, and vanilla. Using a hand held mixer, bet until the cream is fluffy and you see good medium size peaks.
In a parfait glass of your choice, layer the cream then mango. Next, pour mango sauce and add 1/4 pound cake. Keep layering until your glass is full. Sprinkle granola over the top and garnish with a piece of pound cake and mango.
SIDE NOTE: Serve immediately after making or refrigerate up to 4 hours (because of the fresh whipped cream.) Alternatively, you may use cool whip in place of fresh whipped cream to keep longer in the refrigerator.
